Camellia Near West Point, VA

20100716cam

Camellia is now well on his way to exploring this world. After arriving over Queens Creek on July 13 at 6:00pm he came to rest on the Camp Peary Military Base where he spent the night close to the creek shore. On July 14 he remained on the military base near Queens Creek until late afternoon when he flew to the southern side of Queens Creek to the Queens Lake subdivision where he spent the night. Yesterday, July 15, he left the subdivision about 11:00am and flew north along the west side of the York River over James City County and into New Kent County arriving at the mouth of the Pamunkey River about 5:00pm. Camellia came to rest on the King William County side of the Pamunkey River which is where he was at 1:00am this morning, July 16. He is just a couple miles west of West Point, VA.

Now begins the worrying that he will be safe. Fly free, high and safe NC.

Thank you Reese! Have ND and NE officially left the gardens too? Thanks for all you do.

Thank you SO MUCH for the work you do – I SO love reading about the wanderings of Azalea and Camellia. I find myself looking up (near Mt. Trashmore) all the time, just HOPING………

I pray he will be safe and soon come back our area. Its sad when they “grow up” and leave the gardens. Looking forward to next year’s eagle cam.
