Azalea Still at Honey Bee 4/27

Azalea has hung out around the North Landing River between Ware Neck Rd  and Lynnhaven Parkway for this last period except for one flight on Apr 25 to S. Birdneck Rd about noon (YELLOW pointer Apr 25 at 12:00pm). Here are the other data points – YELLOW arrow Apr 24 at 2:00pm – PINK pointer Apr 25 at 1:00am – GREEN pointer Apr 26 at 1:00am – PURPLE pointer Apr 27 at 1:00am – and as of this map WHITE arrow Apr 27 at 6:00am. How sweet to be seeing our AZ locally. She sure makes her parents proud, what a beautiful eagle she is growing up to be!

Reese, since she is three now, about how long before her transmitter falls off and she won’t be tracked anymore? :-(
Response – AVERAGE life of the transmitters CCB uses is 3 years. However, there are 4 transmitters still working that were fitted on eagles in 2007. We will just have to wait to see.

Figures. I was at Honey Bee on 4/25 looking for her and once again didn’t find her.
But I found her today!! :) Hopefully, I’ll get the video posted tomorrow!
