Azalea in Images Jan 21, 2013

The “Dynamic Duo” of Beverly Nettleton and Cary Lynch hit the jackpot yesterday, Jan 21, when out searching for Azalea. Not only did they find her perching, but also eating and taking a bath in a ditch. Azalea was behind a Home Depot store on Hillcrest Parkway in Chesapeake. The attached map shows that Azalea was also there on Jan 15. Color codes for the map – ORANGE Jan 15 at noon, BLUE Jan 21 at 11:00am, WHITE Jan 21 at noon, YELLOW Jan 21 at 1:00pm, GREEN Jan 21 at 2:00pm, and PINK Jan 21 at 3:00pm.

It was wonderful to find AZ! Our idea of fun is to spend hours looking for eagles, especially banded or transmittered ones. Yesterday we hit the jackpot!!!

She looks good and “wings” hi to everyone!

Bev & Cary – Awesome photos of our Diva – Azalea! She is a beauty for sure – just like her mother!!! So glad she is nearby where she can be spotted. Hope her transmitter keeps going for a long time!!!

Hard to believe the little bobblehead will be 4yo in March. Oh, if only we can keep track of her through next year and perhaps find where she chooses to nest…and with whom! Of course, that assumes she is either able to find a mate and establish a territory or survive fighting to get one. Remember all the ladies battling to win her Dad last spring. Scary thought – but that is life as a wild bald eagle.
